Artemis Toi

Anjelina Nikora-Wilson (Artemis Toi)

Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Porou, Tūhoe

Artemis Toi is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Waihōpai. Her work spans large-scale murals, bold 3D paintings, intricate black-and-grey portraits, digital art, kakahu, taonga, and much more.

Inspired by her grandmothers — painters, weavers, singers and all round creatives — Artemis grew up transforming driveways into chalk canvases. Today, her art draws from her cultural heritage, the natural world, and the creative energy of others. Whether through vibrant colour or striking realism, she seeks to capture the stories embedded in everything around her.

For Artemis, art is both grounding and expansive — a way to connect with tīpuna, learn, reflect, and challenge perspectives. While some pieces are purely aesthetic, others invite curiosity, urging viewers to see differently, invoke their inner child, or even create themselves.

She has exhibited locally, sold commissioned works, and dreams of continuous growth — always experimenting, never still. Follow her journey @artemis.toi.

Every purchase made through Mīharo Collective directly supports the artist, while also contributing to Mīharo Murihiku Trust’s charitable programmes that inspire, connect, and uplift Māori and Pacific communities.

Together, we’re building a future where culture is celebrated, creativity thrives, and our stories live on.
